We are going to release the inner beach bum in you by showcasing some of the best beaches in Jamaica.
Other than Seven-mile beach, Jamaica does not have large stretches of beach; however, what we lack in size we make up for in character.
For example, Frenchmans cove beach has a small river exiting into the cove.
The same for Laughing waters Beach. In this case, there is a small waterfall that cascades down to the beach. However, without much ado here is our list of the best beaches in Jamaica.
Frenchmans Cove Beach

Frenchmans Cove is located in Port Antonio which is on the eastern end of the island. Imagine a lush forest that leads to a beautiful beach cove.
There is a river that leads into the ocean so the water can get a bit chilly. The beautiful thing about this beach is you have the option of swimming in the river or the sea.
What is there to do
Frenchmans Cove is one of those places where you can laze around with good company. A great idea would be to bring your own picnic hamper. It’s a great spot for a picnic.

Doctors Cave Beach

White sand beaches, Coconut Trees, Almond Trees and turquoise blue sand, Doctors Cave has it all.
Sit down under an almond tree and watch the sunset while you are sipping on a drink, life doesn’t get any better.
What is there to do
There are two water trampolines offshore. You can also go snorkelling or kayaking. There is also a volleyball court on the beach.
There are a few companies that offer catamaran cruises. One of the most established operators is Dreamer Catamaran Cruises.

Silver Sands Beach

Silver Sands is one of, if not the most beautiful beach in Jamaica. Actually we feel its one of the best beaches in Jamaica. Imagine clear sky blue water and powder white sand beaches.
This private beach is located in the Silver Sands Villa Community. This is the perfect place to sit back and relax. The beach is usually not very crowded.
What is there to do
There are a variety of beach activities in Silver Sand. You can go paddle boarding, snorkelling or kayaking. You can also hire a local boat and explore the coastline. There are quite a few other beaches nearby.

There is a bar and restaurant. There is also a concessionary store nearby where you can buy food items. It’s a bit pricey; they have you at their mercy because there is nowhere else to go. Umbrellas and lounge chairs are available.

Burnwood Beach

What is there to do
You can take Kite surfing or wind-surfing lessons with Brians Kite surfing. There are a soccer and volleyball play area and also a kid play area.

There are drinks available. We didn’t notice any food being sold. It’s probably best to bring your own.

7 Mile Beach Negril

What is there to do
There are numerous watersport activities. You can go snorkelling, diving, jet skiing, parasailing, sailing and glass bottom boat rides.

There are tons of bars and restaurants along the beach. If you are there for a few days pick a different one each day.
Size of Beach
Negril Beach is a really long stretch of beach; however, it’s not really 7 miles!

Boston Beach

What is there to do
This is a great place to get surfing lessons or go surfing. The best time to surf is from November – February.
