Blue Lagoon Jamaica

Blue Lagoon Jamaica is located about 15 minutes from the town of Port Antonio in the eastern part of Jamaica. Port Antonio is around 2 ½ hours from the town of Ocho Rios.

The Blue Lagoon is one of the top beauty spots in Jamaica. The mix of hot and cold and fresh water and salt water offers a unique bathing experience.

The Blue Lagoon is Jamaica’s largest underground spring fed lagoon. It is located in a protected cove along the coast.

It is rumoured that the Blue Lagoon is bottomless; in reality, the Blue Lagoon is around 180-200 feet deep and fed by fresh mineral spring. The Blue Lagoon turquoise blue water is surrounded by lush green vegetation.

At the moment, the Blue Lagoon is a bit run down and the restaurant that was on the edge of the lagoon is now closed. However, it is still a beautiful spot to visit. You can still swim in the water.

You can also take a boat ride or a raft ride. There is a small beach where you can get food and drinks.

The Blue lagoon is located east of San San Beach near the turning to Goblin Hill Hotel.

Blue Lagoon Jamaica Villas

There are a number of villas near the Blue Lagoon called the Blue Lagoon Villas. These luxury villas are within striking distance of the Blue Lagoon.

There is no entrance fee to the Blue Hole. More than likely when you visit you will be accosted for tours. The bamboo raft tours are around US $30 (keep in mind these tours are not very long).

You can also rent kayaks on premises. The price for Kayak rentals is around US $20. More than likely these prices can be negotiated.
