The Bob Marley museum is a definite must see for any visitor to Kingston. Visit the former home of one of Jamaica’s most famous musical artists, Bob Marley.

Devon House: Is around 5 minutes from the Bob Marley museum. Devon House is a great house that was once the home of Jamaica’s first black millionaire.

You can take a great house tour and then get some authentic Jamaican patties in the stores in the nearby courtyard.

Devon house ice cream next door offers such unique Jamaican fruit flavours such as soursop and star apple.

National Art Gallery: Is the largest and oldest art gallery in the Anglophone Caribbean.

It has a very comprehensive collection of art from Jamaica and the Caribbean. Admission, tours and children’s activities are free on the last Sunday of each month.

Port Royal: No visit to Kingston is complete without a visit to Port Royal once regarded as the richest and wickedest city on earth. This former haunt of pirates is sure to take you back in time.

Hellshire Beach: Hellshire is not one of the best beaches in Kingston; however, its claim to fame is the opportunity to get some of the best seafood in Kingston.

Hiking to Blue Mountain Peak: The highest point in Jamaica is Blue Mountain peak at 2,256 meters. If you would like to hike to the peak you can organise a tour with Whitfield Hall.

Reggae Falls Jamaica: Heading east towards the parish of St. Thomas you can visit Reggae Falls.

Reggae falls is located in the town of Seaforth, St. Thomas. It was originally an old dam on the Morant River; these falls are very popular among locals.

Bath Hot Springs: These springs were discovered in 1695. The adjacent botanical gardens are said to be the second oldest in the western hemisphere.

A soak in the roman baths will not only rejuvenate your body, but also your spirit.

Rafting the Rio Grande: The Rio Grande is where Jamaican rafting originated. The rafts were initially used to transport bananas from the plantations in the interior to the coast.

Nowadays rafts take visitors along the Rio Grande River where they can enjoy the picturesque Jamaican countryside.

The Blue Lagoon: The Blue Lagoon is Jamaica’s largest underground spring fed lagoon. Some claim the Blue Lagoon has no bottom.

Waterfalls Galore: Port Antonio is lush, green and mountainous. At times you will feel like you are in a rain forest.

Two must see waterfalls in Port Antonio are Reach Falls and Sommerset falls. Reach Falls is located in a gorgeous river valley and consists of a long series of waterfalls that can be climbed from the section below the main pool.

Sommerset falls are reached by a boat through cavernous cliffs surrounding a narrow inlet.

Boston Jerk (The home of Jerk): Boston Jerk is the home of a world famous jerk cuisine. If you visit the jerk center during the months of October-January, you can visit the nearby Boston Beach and watch the surfers.

If you are feeling adventurous rent a surfboard and get some surfing lessons. Other beaches you can visit are Frenchmans Cove, Winnifred Beach or San San Beach

Maroon Town: The maroon community of Charles town is located around 5 kilometers from Buff Bay.

The maroons are descendants of African slaves who escaped from slavery and established communities in the mountainous interior of the island.

There is a Charles Town museum that has a large variety of artefacts and information about the history of the maroons. If you are in Charles town a variety of hikes are available or you can relax by the river.

White River Valley: You can go tubing along the White River or visit the Blue Hole up in the hills of St. Mary.

The Blue Hole is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ocho Rios.

Attractions in Ocho Rios: Ocho Rios is one of the main tourist regions in Jamaica. The most popular tourist attraction is Dunns River falls.

A few notable alternatives are Konoko falls, Turtle River falls and Shaw Park Gardens and Waterfalls. A few other tourist attractions in Ocho Rios are Dolphin Cove and Mystic Mountain.

Green Grotto Caves: These caves are located on the outskirts of Ocho Rios. The caves are 1,525 meters long and 12 meters deep and is characterized by numerous chambers and a subterranean lake.

Luminous Lagoon or Glistening Waters: Glistening waters stretches along the marshlands of Trelawny.

The lagoon is home to millions of dinoflagellates. At night,the lagoon glistens when disturbed. Glistening waters is said to be the largest and brightest of four in the world.

Great houses: Along the northern coast of Jamaica there are numerous great houses which are remnants of the slavery plantation era in Jamaica. Most notable are the RosehallGood HopeGreenwood and Bellfield Great house.

Rafting at Martha Brae and Lethe: Other than rafting on the Rio Grande in Port Antonio you can go rafting on the Martha Brae River. If you are in Montego Bay you can go rafting at Lethe.

Rockspring Caves (Cockpit Country): If you want to really go caving and experience one of the most beautiful areas of Jamaica a visit to the Rockspring Caves is a must. Hiking and Birdwatching tours are also available.

Ahhh….Ras Natango Art Gallery and Gardens: Is a garden carved into the hillside. Learn about Jamaica’s local flora and fauna.

Enjoy beautiful views of the city of Montego Bay and enjoy great Jamaican hospitality. An art gallery is present where you can purchase Jamaican artwork as a souvenir.

Golfing: Montego Bay has some of the best golf courses in Jamaica. You have the White Witch, Cinnamon Hill, Half Moon and Tryall Golf Course.

The first three golf courses are in close proximity to each other and it is possible to play at one course in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

If you are staying in Ocho Rios, Discovery Bay or Runaway Bay you can go to the Sandals Golf Course or the Jewels Runaway Bay Golf Course.

If you are in Kingston you can utilise the Caymanas or Constant Spring Golf Course.

Nearby Rhodes Hall estate offers horseback riding, birding, cave tours and snorkeling.

Zimbali Mountain Cooking Studio: The drive to get to Zimbali from Negril is worth it.  Located in the hills of Westmoreland this dining experience allows you to experience locally grown food in a unique dining experience.

Mayfield Falls: Mayfield falls is a series of waterfalls located in the interior of the island.

The drive alone to Mayfield Falls is worth it. You will see some of the most beautiful scenery in Jamaica.

Seven Mile Beach: Most people come to Negril to relax on this stretch of beach. While still pretty there is quite a bit of erosion in certain spots.

You will find a lot of bars and restaurants. Some spots have been cordoned off by the all-inclusive’s. The vendors can be a bit aggressive; however, just be polite and move along.

Appleton Rum Tour: Appleton is the premier brand of rum for the island. The rum factory is located in the picturesque Nassau Valley.

Journey through time and learn about the history of rum and rum making.

YS Falls: Is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Jamaica. You can not only view their tiered waterfalls but you can use their natural spring pool, view their gardens and go zip lining over the waterfalls.

Black River Safari: The Black River is the third longest river in Jamaica. The river is teaming with wildlife.

This is a good way to experience Jamaica from a different point of view. Two tours that go along the Black River are Black River Safari and Irie Safari tours.

Accompong Maroon Village: Accompong Maroon Village is the home of the Trelawny maroons, which is located in the cockpit country.

The best time to visit is during the annual Accompong Maroon Festival which is held in January.

Little Ochi Seafood Restaurant: Nestled on the rugged coastline of Alligator Pond, Little Ocho is known by locals as the goto place for seafood. A good time to visit is when they have the Little Ochi Seafood festival.

Pelican Bar: This bar is located on a sandbar about a quarter mile off the coast between Black River and Treasure Beach. Food is available (call ahead).

Milk River Spa: Is a mineral spa located in the parish of Clarendon. The waters of the spa are reputed to have healing qualities.

The waters are about 50 times more radioactive than the waters of Vichy in France and 54 times more radioactive than the waters of Baden in Switzerland.
